Markus Niederhauser graduated from the University of St. Gallen, completing his doctorate in 1992. At the same time he started his professional career at the Swiss Bank Corporation. After two years of experience as a consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, he joined UBS in 1994 with various responsibilities in the digital area. In 2000, he joined the Raiffeisen Group as CFO, then Head of Markets and finally from 2014 to 2018 CEO. Patrik Gisel has also served on the boards of Helvetia Group, SIX Group, the Swiss Bankers Association and Leonteq Financial Products. Father of two children, Patrik Gisel divides his free time between sports (triathlon, skiing) and flying as an IFR private pilot.
